.. A professional artist since 1993, Ovid has sold to rock stars and television news anchors. He lends his colorful realism to everything from a gentrified Edgartown day sail to a motorcycle outside the Ritz in Oak Bluffs.

"I carry my camera all the time," says Ovid, who paints from his own photography. "I get two or three good shots per roll, shots that I can use."

He works every day from seven to three, and scoffs at the idea of having to be in a painting mood. "The school I went to was very tough. I learned early to treat art like a discipline," he says. ...
